Bisque Mignonette Doll Googly#1
Antique Reproduction Doll
Bisque Mignonette Doll Googly#1 – This sweet girl is an 8″ tall all bisque 310 A.O.M antique reproduction doll on a well-shaped toddler body. This “Just Me” character doll has a closed bow mouth and fine painted lashes. She also has blue glass eyes and an auburn mohair wig. Her leather-lined joints are at the neck, shoulders, and hips.
The white ankle tie shoes, made of white leather, have a leather sole. They have a rayon tie and a tiny leather bow on the front with a gold flower in the center. Off white ribbed, rayon socks are included with the shoes.
All the antique little pocket dolls are such a delight to see. They were first reproduced in France in about 1860, then later produced in Germany, Japan, then later in the United States. These dolls are all bisque and their sizes range from a tiny one inch to fifteen inches tall. Doll Reference gives a good overview of these delightful little dolls. The reproduction dolls such as Twirp#1, copied from the antique dolls, are smaller than the originals due to shrinkage of the porcelain. Many of these little all bisque dolls are available here.
