This Turquoise Overlay Toni-Doll Dress is a copy of a classic Toni doll dress and includes an attached slip to hold her dress out. Little girls of this era wore twirly dresses with petticoats and puffed sleeves too. This cotton print Turquoise Overlay Toni-Doll Dress with two-tones has an overlay band of color accented with satin ribbon, narrow cotton lace, as well as ricrac trim around the neckline. The dress closes in the back with two or three buttons. Don’t forget to order her panties as well as shoes and socks.

Manufactured from 1949-1956, Ideal Toni dolls first introduced in 1949, and later the Toni Walkers introduced in 1954 became much sought after. Her main feature was her nylon hair by Dupont that little girls could perm with a home permanent (sugar water). She came in five sizes, but the largest size of 22 1/2″ is especially rare. Toni dresses came in a wide variety, ranging from bridal gowns to school dresses. Many of her dresses were made of nylon, polished cotton, or waffle cotton, illustrated by this doll reference for the Toni dolls https://dollreference.com/ideal_toni_doll1949.html.
