Shirley Temple dolls were first produced in 1934 by the Ideal Novelty and Toy company of Brooklyn, New York. Shirley Temple, the world’s little darling, acted in 54 movies, from 1931 – 1949. After her baby burlesque movies, the movie “Stand Up and Cheer” catapulted her to stardom. Shirley temple dolls were rushed to stores in time for Christmas 1934 and have been in production ever since. There was an entire wardrobe of Shirley Temple Doll Clothes available for all nine sizes of composition Shirley Temple dolls. The first dolls were produced between 1934-1939 and were made of composition; followed by vinyl dolls from 1957-1963; with three other productions since then.
